Dave Kepler graduated from Avon High School and went right into the US Army and served in the armed forces for two years.  After his tour of duty, He created Dave's Short Stop in Avon and W. Washington St., a convenience store and ran it from 1972-1998.  

He then opened Smoker's Choice in Brownsburg in 1997 starting out with only a 6 foot glass humidor.  During the early years, it was very hard to fill the humidor because the industry was in the midst of a sales boom and it was very difficult to stock any premium cigars.  

But things got a lot better and now, Smoker's Choice has the largest humidor in the state of Indiana with over 2000 open boxes and another 1000 bundles and small cigars. Dave purchased a sister location, Mr. B's located on US 36 and Dan Jones Rd in Avon.  

Dave continues to run the shop to this day is one of the most successful shops in the state of Indiana offering a wide variety of mild, medium and full cigars.
